Planning Your Trip:
• If you are flying in for this event the Calgary Airport is approximately a 60min drive from Canmore. They do have shuttles from the airport to and from Canmore.
Canmore is an excellent walking town so choosing accommodations close to the downtown is a good idea, the downtown is 8th street which intersects with Spring Creek drive which leads to the Opera House.
Check the weather before you head out. In May we can have all 4 seasons in one day in the mountains.
Use your favorite booking site to book your hotel or condo.
The Malcolm is the closest hotel to the Opera House, Silver Creek has many VRBO options and is the area the Opera House is located in. Falcon Crest, Stoneridge, Solara, the Canmore Downtown Hostel, and the basecamp hotel chain, in particular the Lamphouse by Basecamp, are all good options to consider based on your needs. Anything on HWY 1A/ Bow Valley trail will be a manageable walk.
Consider staying for an extra day or two, and consider renting a car so you can see some of the beautiful sites.
Things to do around Canmore: biking, hiking, lake activities, skiing, dining, shopping, wildlife photography, Banff National Park, & so much more to see
& to do in this mountain paradise.
